As China moves toward a more relaxed market economy, more restaurants are opening in the country’s biggest cities.
The city of Shanghai opened its first new restaurant in a decade in 2017.
That year, it was the only Chinese city to open a new restaurant within two years.
But a number of new restaurant openings are happening in cities in southern China, including in cities like Hubei, the capital of Hubeishan province.
The Hubeian government is encouraging the growth of new restaurants and says the country needs more places to serve its growing population.
