Women’s health care, and particularly the under-funded sector of health care for the elderly, is one of the most underfunded sectors of the health system.
The United States has the highest number of women dying from preventable causes, including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and cancer, compared to other developed countries.
Women are often under-represented in both clinical trials and in the general population in the health care system.
And despite the importance of gender, women often don’t see themselves as the main beneficiaries of the new care system, with many being seen as being the “secondary beneficiary” in the system.
“A large number of the underinsured women in America do not have access to the kinds of care that the elderly can get,” says Carol Wasko, executive director of the Women’s Health Fund, an organization dedicated to helping women in low-income and minority communities.
“They are at a greater risk of suffering from preventative care and are more likely to experience adverse health outcomes,” Waskos said.
But despite these disparities, women have been fighting to make a dent in the funding gap.
Last year, Waska started the Women on Women in Health Care (WOWH) initiative, which is designed to make health care available to women and their children and is focused on the under-$2.5 billion ($1.8 billion) needed to provide health care to women in underserved communities.
WOWH is an umbrella group of organizations that work on issues including education, policy, and social services.
“I was very fortunate to work with an incredible network of women and families to help us develop this program,” Wawo said.
The program will work with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to provide care for low- and moderate-income women and children, as well as the underserved.
In addition, the WOWT is providing financial assistance to underserved women in their efforts to access health care.
The WOWL program will be available through the end of the year, and it will be expanded to other communities as the program gains support from the CMS and states.
This new program will help provide women with the kinds and types of care they need to live healthy, productive lives and help improve their health and well-being, Wawos said in a statement.
The Women on the Frontlines program has grown in size since its inception, with the WowH initiative and other initiatives helping to provide access to care for women, Womans on the frontlines, and their families.
The new program is a continuation of this work, WOWO added.
The first WOWF began in 2006, and WOW is a continuing partnership between the Womens Health Fund and the WOMEN Coalition.
The partnership has expanded to include several new initiatives, including WOWN, a program focused on improving the health and quality of life for women and girls in undersourced communities.
And in December of this year, the program was awarded a $1.6 million grant by the Department of Health and Human Services.
The grant will be used to expand the program to all women, and the Women On the Frontline is an ongoing initiative that focuses on empowering women and developing women’s health, Wombles on thefrontlines.org said.
